Based in Vancouver, Mike Seymour’s creative works evoke such an emotion within the viewer. Having been a part of the Bocci team for many years, since his departure, Seymour set off on his own, exploring and delving into the realms of craft, architecture and design. He launched ’Fossils’ this past year, reframing works that bridge functional and sculptural pieces—its debut, entitled 'Paean’, was a large columnal ceramic chandelier hung in the grand staircase of the Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, a 16th century disused villa in Milan, Italy.

Though considerably a more recent discovery, his works have certainly made in impression—particularly as seen within the beautiful setting of Untitled Design in this latest exhibition. There is a realization of an organic feeling; one of authenticity and of beauty, surely… bits of nature may spring to mind, and with it, memories of fond pastime by the shore, or underneath the cooling, grand presence of arborous figures—their charming floral and fauna, mushrooms and mounds underfoot… but no matter the immediate or reflective transportation of mind, the translation and art that has gone into creating each and every piece, or cluster of pieces, is surely one that would be such a lovely addition to live with. Simply put, enchanting.

The exhibition is open, by appointment, until the end of October 2024 within the Untitled Design space.
